Sept 2024: Roland includes a certain V-kick pad model with each of it’s electronic drum kits. This is a list of the current models and the benefits to each one. This will help explain, compare, and review what the difference is between the Roland kick pads.
Roland KT-10 Kick Trigger Pedal $329.99, ROCK-SOLID PLAYABILITY IN AN INTEGRATED LOW-NOISE DESIGN, Featuring innovative new technology from Roland, the KT-10 provides authentic feel and playability in a low-noise kick trigger pedal for V-Drums sound modules and other electronic percussion instruments. The all-in-one design offers fast, fluid response and a unique reverse-action trigger mechanism that makes the pedal not only compact in size, but also far quieter in operation than a kick pad played with a standard pedal and beater. The KT-10 features adjustments for customizing the feel to suit your personal playing style. The pedal response can be altered by removing weights in the beater mechanism or shifting them to different slots, while moving the spring to different hook positions lets you easily modify the pedal’s tension. In addition, the convenient Mix In trigger jack allows you to create a double-pedal setup with a second KT-10. Roland KD-10 $259.99, 10″ COMPACT BASS DRUM PAD, quietest mechanical noise in the kick pad family, accepts optional single or double bass drum pedal of any brand, is included with the TD-17K-L, TD-17KV, TD-17KV2, TD-17KVX, TD-17KVX2, TD-27KV, TD-27KV2 v-drum sets.
Roland KD-12 $TBA, 12″ COMPACT BASS DRUM PAD comes standard with the TD713 V-Drums kit. It provides a solid acoustic playing feel, accurate rebound, and a minimal footprint for flexible placement within your setup. The 7.5-inch playing surface is wide enough to accommodate single or double pedals, while the included KDP-5 patch reduces wear and allows you to play with a plastic, felt, or wood beater. Newly developed telescopic leg hardware offers improved stability, ensuring the pad stays in place with the most aggressive playing.
Roland KD-18-BK $TBA, is a premium 18-inch kick drum pad that comes standard with the flagship TD716 V-Drums kit. It features a full-depth wood shell and an innovative pad sensor system built into an acoustic drumhead for authentic feel and rebound. The KD-18-BK also offers an updated leg design, improved pad durability, an adjustable pedal mounting plate, and a larger trigger area for double pedals and short beater settings.
Roland KD-140 aka KD-140-BC $1337.99, 14″ bass drum pad with white mesh head, accepts optional single or double bass drum pedal of any brand, is included with the TD-50KV and TD-50K2 v-drum sets.
Roland KD-180L-BK $619.99, 18″ diameter x 7″ deep acoustic bass drum shell with built in Roland bass drum trigger, accepts optional single or double bass drum pedal of any brand, is included with the VAD-306 v-drum set. This can be added to any TD-25, TD-27, TD-30, or TD-50 drum set. It really makes the drum set have a more “acoustic look and feel.” Because it is an acoustic shell keep in mind that their will be slightly more mechanical noise than compared to the KD-10 or KD-140.

This can be added to any TD-25, TD-27, TD-30, or TD-50 drum set. It really makes the drum set have a more “acoustic look and feel.” Because it is an acoustic shell keep in mind that their will be slightly more mechanical noise than compared to the KD-10 or KD-140.
