This is one of the best values we’ve encountered in a used grand piano. For comparison…this piano was $35,000 when it was new in 2013, and now a new one in 2025 is $40,562. And compare it to two beautiful Yamaha C3’s, an impeccable Yamaha C5, and a Kawai RX3, all for sale and sitting near this Seiler Grand Piano.
We are a locally owned and operated Austin piano store here in Austin, TX since 1988.
Why buy a used piano??? Last year in the United States there were over an estimated 1 million pianos sold, of those, 15,000 were new (source Music Trades Industry Report April 2025), and the remainder of over 985,000 were used. It’s hard to compare a used piano to buying a used car or a used computer or almost anything else used. If you don’t normally buy things used, there are lots of good reasons to buy a high quality used piano like this Seiler. Here are just a few:
- a high quality piano’s soundboard improves with age
- a new piano’s tone doesn’t start to mature until it’s five to ten years old
- a new piano’s action can take a few years to break in
- a well cared for top brand piano like the C3 is virtually like buying new but for much less
- Quality pianos like this one are designed and built to last 100+ years
